Premiere for Boosting the Capital prize

The Stockholm Chamber of Commerce is highlighting three initiatives that has contributed in making the Capital Region more innovative, inclusive and outreaching. The winners are:

Mats Hederos for his contribution with Urban Escape, which has meant an extraordinary boost for Brunkebergstorg (Brunkeberg square) with surroundings. Urban Escape is the perfect example of a construction project that boosts the Capital Region.

- Brunkebergstorg has, for many years, been forgotten and turned on its back despite its central location. Now, it is well underway into becoming the city’s nicest area. It is fantastic to contribute to a better centre, it increases all the attractiveness of Stockholm.

Damon Rasti is awarded a prize for his initiative in the “Love Manifestation” in Sergel square, where he made inhabitants from all over Stockholm come together and show their love for the city in times when Stockholm was most vulnerable.

What was missing however was a sense of strong community, and specifically there was a noticeable lack of events gathering these people together to meet, learn and build meaningful connections with each other. This is why I ran the first Uppstart event.
