No growth without real estates

A functioning real estate market is one of the region's foremost challenges. Today there are 110 000 and 9 000 dwellings missing in Stockholm and Uppsala, respectively. Both construction and mobility in the real estate market have to increase. The shortage of housing makes it difficult for companies to establish offices in the region and to attract qualified workers.

Real estate constructions in the capital region have lagged behind for many years. The real estate market is immobile and consists of lock-in effects, both in private and leased housing.

Vigorous efforts are required in the short term in order to mitigate an emergency situation. Furthermore, a long-term strategy is needed for the housing market to function properly.

The Chamber has actively been working on housing issues for many years. We have been a driving force for facilitation of sublease.
