Stockholm Is Set To Become The 7th Largest Meeting-City

For the first time Stockholm is among the top ten list over the largest meeting-cities. This is according to a new future prognosis for 2019 made by the global travel company CWT.

- It is of course very positive and shows that Stockholm has a strong brand, Lotta Andersson, public affairs expert, says.

One of the world’s largest multinational travel agencies, Carlson Wagonlit Travel (CWT), has released a list over what cities are predicted to be the largest meeting-cities.

Stockholm is ranked 7th on the list that gathers cities from Europe, Middle east, and Africa.

- It further strengthens the image of Stockholm as a global city with a strong brand and a major potential for business travelers as tourists, Lotta Andersson says.

Stockholm’s entry into the list means that cities like Paris falls with one degree. London is still ranked as the number one meeting-city in Europe, Middle east, and Africa.

- There remains a lot of space for improvement. For example, the development of Arlanda airport would further increase the capital region’s tourism attraction, if the conditions to travel to and from Stockholm improved, Lotta Andersson says.
