Stockholm Chamber positive to the response on Eastern Link

The Alliance parties in Stockholm county proposes construction on the Eastern link. The Stockholm Chamber, having long voiced that the link should be completed, are positive to the response.

- To complete the link is crucial for Stockholm to continue to develop and be the country’s growth-engine, Maria Rankka, CEO of the Stockholm Chamber, says.

The decision came after a press meeting regarding the parties’ common election-manifest.

- We already face long ques, crowded traffic and a messy inner city. The private sector as well as the majority of the Stockholmers want to see the link completed, simply since we know how ineffective traffic is today. To complete the link and lead the flow of traffic around the city instead of through the city is essential to repel traffic chaos, Maria Rankka says.

- The population is expected to grow with almost an entire Malmö until 2030. It puts much more demand on effective traffic flows for commuting to work. That is why we need the last part of the link to be constructed as soon as possible, Maria Rankka says.
